How to Shape Garments

You can knit a scarf. You can knit a rectangle. But how do you turn flat fabric into something that actually fits a human body? This workshop is for knitters who are ready to move beyond flat pieces. German short rows, increases and decreases, buttonholes, picked up stitches, i-cord edges. Two hours of the techniques that separate a swatch from a sweater.

Level: Intermediate. You should be comfortable knitting and purling.

Group size: 3 to 8 people

What to Bring

Your own yarn and needles (DK or Aran weight recommended). This is a technique workshop, so bring whatever you're comfortable knitting with.

Your Teacher

Irene (they/them) is a fibre artist and biologist who has taught knitting and crochet classes in South Korea and ran a weekly Fibre Arts group in Seoul for seven months. Whether you're tackling your first garment or refining your finishing techniques, they'll get you there.

Location

Pluche Wol en Garens, Kleverlaan 9, 2023 JD Haarlem (inside the Haarlemmer Kweektuin greenhouse). The store is a short walk from Haarlem station.

Good to Know

Cancellation policy: Full refund up to 7 days before the workshop. 50% refund up to 72 hours before. Cancellations less than 72 hours before or no-shows are charged at the full fee.

Minimum capacity: This workshop requires a minimum of 3 participants. If the minimum is not reached, Pluche will notify you at least 5 days in advance and you will receive a full refund.
