The Sweater Workshop with Julia from Atelier Ooi (II)

Join us at Pluche for a guided, three-part journey to create the perfect wardrobe staple. The No Frills Sweater is a timeless, simple raglan sweater with elegant neckline shaping from the talented and extremely popular designer PetitKnit. Whether you're knitting for yourself or a little one, this workshop provides the expert guidance you need to finish a garment you'll actually wear. Note: This workshop is designed for beginners who can knit and purl. The workshop is in English but both of us can explain the notions in Dutch as well. 

Workshop Schedule & Focus

The workshop is split into three focused sessions to give you time to knit at your own pace in between.

Session 1: Pattern and Start on 22 March February, 14:00 – 15:00: In this first session, we’ll select your yarns, check gauge, and dive deep into the pattern. You’ll master swatching and learn how to read and interpret the instructions, leaving you fully prepared and confident to cast on your sweater at home.

Session 2: The techniques on 29 March, 13:00 – 16:00: Once you have cast on, joined in the round, and finished the neck ribbing, we’ll tackle the technical details. We will cover short rows and raglan increases, while further deepening your understanding of the pattern’s structure.

Session 3: Body and sleeves on 12 April, 10:00 – 13:00: After a bit of homework, we’ll reunite to split the body and sleeves—the most exciting milestone in top-down construction! Julia will be on hand for individual troubleshooting to ensure a perfect fit, and we’ll wrap up by discussing the best techniques for casting off your finished garment."

What is included

• The Pattern: The official No Frills sweater pattern from PetitKnit is included in your registration fee. This will be purchased on your behalf on Ravelry

• Expert Instruction: 18 hours of in-person guidance from Julia with support from Georgiana

What is not included:

The yarn is not included in the workshop fee. You are welcome to bring your own or purchase it from Pluche or Atelier Ooi. Not sure what to pick? We are here to help you calculate exactly how much yarn you’ll need and ensure it matches the pattern perfectly.

What else to bring: Knitting needles and cables are not included, as we assume many of you may already have these in your collection. If you don't have the right sizes yet, don't worry—you can purchase everything you need directly at Pluche on the day of the workshop.

Cancellation:

We understand that plans can change! To keep our small-group classes sustainable, we have the following policy:

• Refunds: You can cancel for a full refund up until at least 48 hours before the class starts.
• Late Cancellations: If you cancel less than 48 hours before the class, we are unfortunately unable to offer a refund, as it is difficult to fill the spot at such short notice.
• Transfers: If you find yourself in the "no-refund" window, you are more than welcome to send a friend in your place! Just send us a quick email to let us know who will be taking your spot at the table.
